"RiRi" was the third Canaan Dog to come to River Rock.  She had come to be bred and whelp her litter and decided she didn't want to go home!  She is a most welcome addition and we thank her breeder, Parker Flowers, for letting her stay here.  

"RiRi" has matured into a lovely "middle-aged" female.  Her steady demeanor and grace has charmed most that she meets.  She accompanies us to many education events to introduce people to Canaan Dogs.  She has whelped five litters for the breed and garnered the Best Brood Bitch at the 2003 and 2004 Canaan Dog Club of America National Specialty.  She is truly a joy and much loved snuggle-bug of Allan.

To date, she is our most titled Canaan Dog with her conformation championship, her Companion Dog Obedience title, her Rally Novice Obedience title, Canine Good Citizenship and her Canaan Dog Club of America Herding Certificate, Canaan Dog Club of America Register of Merit award and was awarded the Canaan Dog Club of America Dog of the Year for 2004. 

There is something to be said about a boy and his dog.  Ethan, our son, and "RiRi" have become almost inseparable.  She sleeps with him, goes out in the yard with him and even accompanies him into the show ring.  There bond was never more evident than in the past few years.  "RiRi" has successfully alerted us to Ethan's seizures.  Her bond and intuitive nature earned her the 2005 AKC ACE Award for Exemplary Companion Dog.
