"Sammie the Whammie" is one of the most humorous and fun loving Canaan Dogs we have ever had. He takes great joy in making us laugh or wonder "what was he thinking". We were concerned about "Samwise" at birth, he was half the size of his litermates - thus garnering him a hobbit (halfling) name. He has since gone on to prove that birth size doesn't matter and is one of the largest Canaan Dogs we have produced. "Samwise" finished his AKC Championship from the Bred-by Exhibitor class, continuing a strong tradition of Breeder/Owner handled Canaan Dogs at River Rock. In a limited career as a special, he has finished 2004 and 2005 in the top 5 for breed points in America and was the #1 Breeder/Owner handled Canaan Dog in America for both years.

"Samwise" has continued his winning ways in Australia.  He fulfilled the requirements for his Australian Championship in style by taking Best of Breed at the 2007 Melbourne Royal Show.  He will be shown selectively in the future.
